He was predeceased by: his parents, Delia Alice Pirkle and Fred Rogers Benson. He is survived by: his wife Victoria Groover Benson; his children, Mark Benson (Jennifer) of Watkinsville, GA, Sherry B. Smith (Jimmy) of Roanoke, AL, Jackie B. Batson of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dee B. Diget-Carden (Allison) of Senoia, GA and Chance Benson (Kelly) of Bogart, GA; and his sister Juanita Tate of Perry, GA. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren.
