Henry Calhoun Maxey Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Henry Calhoun Maxey (Athens, Georgia), who passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Herndon Maxey; his parents, Clarence Wood Maxey and Mary Elizabeth Parrish Maxey; and his great grandchild Millie Anne Garrett. He is survived by: his children, Beth Maxey Dillard, Mike Maxey (Tammy) and Keith Maxey (Angie); his grandchildren, Julianne Garrett (Simon), Josh Dillard (Brittney), Josh Garrett (Heather), Alana Lipham (Jimmy), Michael Garrett, Jami Wood (David), Preston Maxey and Melissa Maxey; his great grandchildren, Betsy Grace, Amos, Leila Mae Garrett, Harper and Henry Dillard; and his siblings, Harry Maxey (Wanda) and Lynn Langford (Jim). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, a multitude of cousins, and many lifetime friends.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Nations Church (8780 Macon Hwy, Athens, GA 30606). A reception was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Henry's memory may be made to St. Mary's Highland Hills Village or Nations Church.
