She was predeceased by: her parents, Troy Pounder Corne and Foster McMahan Corne; her husband George Walker Thurston; and her son Troy Walker Thurston. She is survived by: her brother John Corne (Sherleen) of Raleigh, NC; her children, Jill Thurston (Bonnie), John Thurston (Julie Ann) and April T. Burel (Brad); her daughter-in-law Julie Rizzi (Vince); her grandchildren, Rebekah Stevens, Troy W. Thurston, Jr. (Abby), Coleman Thurston, Jack Stevens, Marshall Thurston, Foster Thurston and Michael Thurston; and her great grandchildren, Emory and Hunter Thurston.
