She was predeceased by: her parents, James Floyd Brown and Nellie Mariah Brown; her husband Edward Reese Brooks, Jr.; and her siblings, James Floyd Brown, Inez Johnson, Kathleen Jones, Mae Brown, Loretta Ashley, Bessie Collins and Tessie Irby.

She is survived by: her children, Edward Reese Brooks, III (Kathy), Pamela Brooks Evans and Floyd Thomas Brooks (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Brad Brooks (Katie), Lesley Hightower (Justin) and Ashley Meyer (Joe); her stepgrandchildren, Robert Evans (Stephanie), Tara Cords (Doug), Savannah Evans (Patrick) and Beau Evans (Elyse); her great grandchildren, Reese, Ellie, Hattie, Will Brooks, Nolan Robinson, Hayden and Logan Meyer; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexandria, Robbie, Killian Evans, Lily, Lucas and Bennett Cords.
