Maurice Willard Kiser Jr. Obituary

We announce the death of Maurice Willard Kiser Jr. of Athens, Georgia, who passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 96. Maurice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Lou Cox; his brothers, Lynn Kiser and Bernard Kiser; his parents, Maurice Kiser, Sr. and Etta Susan Cooper; and his grandfather Cooper.

He is survived by: his sons, William Mark Kiser (Selena Kiser) and Manley Kiser; his granddaughter Molly Lou Kiser; his siblings, Dana Combs (James Arthur), Virginia Fergusson (Ginny), Roger Kiser (Shirley) and Winston Kiser (Glenna); Olivia Harvey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Maurice was an honorary member of the Medlock Moms and Belk lunch groups, and was a longtime supporter of the American Chestnut Foundation.
