It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nellie Eva Clanton (Athens, Georgia), born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on June 18, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joe; her parents, Patrick Leonard Stone and Minnie Ballard Stone; her siblings, A. J. Newman, Earl Newman, Martha Ann Newman, Wauwese Schuman Woodward, Robert "Bobby" Stone and Janice Ciliberto; and her son-in-law Keith Fagan.

She is survived by: her children, Joey Clanton III (Cindy) of Rome, GA and Deborah Wilda (Timm) of Trinity, NC.; her sister-in-law Glenda Sutton Stone (Bobby); and her grandchildren, Joe Clanton IV, Michele Mote Clements (Russ), Melissa Mote, Eva Montgomery, Josh Myers, Timothy Wilda, Sydney Clanton and Macie Clanton.
