It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Saphronie Oneal Self (Athens, Georgia), who passed away on July 11, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Joseph Gunter and Maggie Bell Satcher Gunter; and her siblings, Jane Moon, Melvin Gunter and Eugene Gunter.
She is survived by: her husband James Wesley Self; her sons, David Self (Debora), Ronnie Self (Debbie) and Wayne Self; and her siblings, Betty Helen Dattler, Jimmy Gunter, Doug Gunter and Linda Cox. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd, Watkinsville, GA 30677). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at the Calendar Evergreen Memorial Park (3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606).
