He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Felix McElroy and Edna McElroy; his wife Debra Manley McElroy of Athens; his sons, Christopher Steven McElroy (Brantley) and Kyle Matthew McElroy; his sister Kathy Meadows (Randy); and his brother-in-law Michael Manley (Terri). He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC).
