He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin A. Nelson and Agnes E. Nelson; his former wife Joye Fricke Nelson; and his brother Don J. Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Ellen W. Nelson; his sister-in-law ChloeAnn Nelson of Lincoln, NE; his sibling's children, Richard L. Nelson of Elgin, TX and Jayna S. Nelson of Woodstock, NY; his granddaughter Melodie Kaufl of Sebastapol, CA; his stepchildren, Dianne Fuller Irwin Lhotte (Ron) of Fitzgerald, GA and K. Drew Fuller (Erin) of Atlanta, GA.; his stepgrandchildren, Sarah Irwin McCannon (Brandon), J. Paul Irwin (Maria), Graydon Fuller and Elise Fuller; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Cadence, Vanessa McCannon, William, Dansby and Ellie Irwin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church.
