He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Louis Megathlin of Sabine Pass and Mary Jane Latimer Megathlin of Canton. He is survived by: his wife Carol Megathlin of Athens; and his son William Megathlin, Jr. of Athens. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Church of Savannah in the Isle of Hope Baptis (22 Rose Ave, Savannah, GA 31406). A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oconee Hill Cemetery (297 Cemetery St, Athens, GA 30605). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Good Shepherd Church of Savannah in the Isle of Hope Baptis (22 Rose Ave, Savannah, GA 31406).
