He is survived by : his wife Melissa Sexton Valena; his children, Daniel, Evan and Christina Fritz (Richard); his granddaughter Mia; his siblings, Melinda V. Sheets, Liza Myers (Ed), Cynthia Bellian (Joe), Nelson Valena (Jason Anderson) and Vanessa Tinsley (Rob); and his sisters-in-law, Selina Kilpatrick (Joe) and DeeAnne Jackson. He is also survived by 19 nephews and nieces.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Tucker First United Methodist Church (5095 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Church Funeral Service.
