She was predeceased by: her former husband James E. Bentley, Sr.; her daughter Barbara Diane Bentley; her grandson James III; and her parents, John Henry Hilmer, Jr. and Martha Rosella Hilmer (Montgomery).
She is survived by: her husband John Carroll; and her children, Deborah, Marlyn, James II, Phillip, Patrick and Jack. She is also survived by the seven children, she has 16 grandchildren and so far, 18 great grandchildren.
