He is survived by: his wife Connie Calhoun; his children, Martha Shafer (Tim), Charles Merrell Calhoun, Jr. (Cary) and John Calhoun (Noel); and his grandchildren, Matthew Shafer (Alicia), Emily Shafer Marcacci (Mike), Charles Merrell "Chase" Calhoun III, Nicholas Calhoun and Benjamin Calhoun.
