He was predeceased by: his parents, Barnett Shainker and Sadye Wender Shainker; and his sister Bernice Shainker Toran Alter. He is survived by: his children, Jacky Jordan, Eileen (Tony) Tantillo (Atlanta), Kenneth (Laura), David (Laura) and Russell (Lisa); his grandchildren, Lisa Tantillo Callaghan (Zack), Kevin Tantillo, Margaux St Germain, Mariah Krueger, Juliet Shainker, Mike Ward, Clifton Reynolds, Brent Mayhan, Sarah Shainker Connelly (Kyle), Jessica Shainker Dolder (Ben), Benjamin Shainker and Brian Shainker; and his stepchildren, Harlan Kinsler (Sherrie) and Sharon Karlan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Winship Cancer Center (Emory University), Ahavath Achim Synagogue Barnett and Sadye Shainker Memorial Fund, Bremen Jewish Home, or American Cancer Society.
