David Askew Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 31, 2025, at the age of 81, David Askew (Atlanta, Georgia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Delores Askew; his children, David Askew (Renard), Marlon Askew (Phyllis), Kennie Askew and Tiska Sanford; his siblings, Alfred Askew (Mary) and Evelyn Reynolds; his grandchildren, Keisha, Marlon, Jr., Tony, Michael, Denzel, Richard (Lil Rick), Travon, Density and Wanda; his siblings-in-law, Joann Alexander, Shirley Walker (Charlie), Robert Carter (Sandra), Melvin Carter (Sandra) and Michael Carter (Shelia); and his cousins, Sandra Howard, Valerie "Nippy" Lewis (Freddie), Tonya Goodrum (Tim) and Annanethia "Peaches" Hattney (Clay). He is also survived by Nine Great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM at the Second Mt. Vernon Baptist Church East (230 Stovall St SE, Atlanta, GA 30316).
