She is survived by: her children, L. C. Wheat Jr. (Shandricker), Lashonda Wheat-Lasore (Niyi Seun) and Antwan Lamont Wheat (Tamika); and her siblings, Roy McLaughlin (Val) and Shirley McLaughlin Hand (Pierce). She is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless friends.
