He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Homer Attaway McElroy and Carrie Lou Richey McElroy; and his sisters, Edna Mae Carns (Walter) and Evelyn Richardson (Phil). He is survived by: his wife Pat McElroy; his children, Tom McElroy (Cheri) and Leslie Willingham (Richard); and his nieces and nephews, Phyllis Wood (Warren), Karen Freshley (Steve) and Bucky Carns (late Edwina).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Embry Hills United Methodist Church (3304 Henderson Mill Rd, Atlanta, GA 30341). A committal service will be held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery (2025 Mt Carmel Church Ln, Canton, GA 30114).
