He is survived by: his wife Barbara Anne Gazaway; his daughters, Beth Ramsay Poland (Neil) of Hilton Head and Kate Ramsay Brewer of Atlanta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Amy, Nick (Mary), Drew Poland (Liz) and Ramsay Brewer; and his great grandchild Juliette Poland.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (515 E Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Ernest's memory be made to Holy Trinity Parish.
