He was predeceased by: his parents, James Oliver Askew and Annie Lois Askew; his former wife Evelyn Cook Askew; his daughter Keisha Suzanne Guthrie; his grandson Jackson Mark Johnson; and his siblings, Dr. Opel Askew, Robin Askew, Nathaniel Askew and Willie Lewis Askew.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Eades Askew of East Point, Georgia; his children, Keith Askew (Bonsha) of Powder Springs, Dr. Krystal Askew Wattley (Les) of Powder Springs and Calvin Green (Michelle) of East Point, Georgia.; and his siblings, Bernarr Askew (Doris) of Atlanta, Georgia, Helen Gregory (Harold) of Romulus, Michigan, Mary Allen (Carl) of Atlanta, Georgia and Freddie Peterson of Romulus, Michigan.. He is also survived by eight grandsons, two great-grandsons, a host of devoted in-laws, and countless loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
