She is survived by: her husband Clarence Johnson; her stepfather James Watson; her sisters, Paula Watson, Shirley Mosley and Sharon Jones; her great-nephew Jabari Lee; her son Derrick Johnson; her sisters, Beverly Ross and Major Janice Sturdivant; her grandchildren, Tangela Joseph, Jamal Harper (Melissa) and Di'el Johnson; her great grandchildren, Jamari Harper, Jeremiah Harper, Kenyatta Joseph II (KJ), Josiah Harper, Skylin Hall, Jamiyah Harper and Aubree Harper; her nephews, Julius C. Ross (Melinda), LaGherrick Jones, Jamelle Brown, JâMarcus Blackman, Jalan Tillman and JaJuan Watson; her daughters, Judy Brown and Amanda Harper; and her grandchildren, Warren Peek, Jr. and Javia Sanders.

Through her leadership in the Male Partnership Project and the Fatherhood Initiative with the Epsilon Xi Lambda Education Foundation, Inc., she helped countless fathers build stronger relationships with their children.
