James Thomas will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor James Thomas by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though James Thomas is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. James Thomas’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Baxley and Jimmie Anne Baxley; his brother-in-law Jim Moore; and his nephew Will Gordon. He is survived by: his brother Bill Baxley; his sister-in-law Dee Baxley; his sisters, Julie Moore and Angie Miller; and his brother-in-law Rich Miller. He is also survived by 40 nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 350 Boulevard SE, Atlanta, GA 30312. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at the Millen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests in honor of Jim's life and legacy, memorial donations may be made to A.G. Rhodes, whose dedicated team cared for him during his final days. Checks can be made payable and mailed to AG Rhodes Atlanta, 350 Boulevard SE, Atlanta, GA 30312.
