He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Ruth Barton Mize and Hugh Milton Mize; his wife Linda Ruth Greene Mize; and his siblings, Hugh Milton Mize, Jr. and Arthurene Mize Davis.
He is survived by: his close friend Joyce Espy; his children, Jonathan Lee Mize (Jennifer Jordan) and Jessica Mize Daves; his son-in-law Donnie Daves; his grandchildren, Justin Marshall, Joshua Marshall, Devin Daves, Parker Mize and Savannah Lux (Scott); his great grandchild Evelyn Lux; and his dachshund Elke. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
