He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Spears and Vesta Spears; his son Timothy Glenn Spears; and his great grandchild John Sparrow Washington. He is survived by: his wife Edith Marion Spears; his children, Daniel Spears (Kay) and Cathy Wilson (Mark); and his brother Mahlon Spears (Virginia).
