We announce the death of Karen Lei Beneda in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 82. Karen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Francis Frakes Sr. and Yukiko Diane Higa Frakes; her brother Robert "Bobby" Francis Frakes Jr.; and her husband Robert Val Beneda of Stone Mountain, GA.. She is survived by: her daughter Robin Beneda Grimmett (Roger) of Lilburn; her grandchildren, Nicholas Jeffery Grimmett (Aimee) of Indian Trail, NC and Samantha Rose Grimmett of Lilburn, GA; and her sisters, Sharon Horwart of Bella Vista, AR, Patricia "Pat" Gregg of Lincoln, NE and Linda Frakes of Henderson, NV..

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's name to the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
