It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVerne K. Brown in Atlanta, Georgia, born in Washington, Georgia, who passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, LaVerne is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that LaVerne's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Karsten and Opal Karsten; her husband John William Brown; and her daughter Charlotte. She is survived by: her daughters, Katherine (Jeff) of Decatur, Georgia and Elizabeth of Angier.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Episcopal Relief and Development agency.
