The passing of Maxine Dracakis of Atlanta, Georgia, born in Hendersonville, North Carolina leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on September 24, 2025 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Nicholas Trakas and Catherine Trakas Malavis; her sister Maria Trakas; and her siblings-in-law, Marcia Trakas and John Jianopoulos.
She is survived by: her significant other Emanuel "Manny" Dracakis; her daughters, Renee Dracakis (Stephen Turpin) of Brookhaven, GA and Nicole Adams (Christo) of Brookhaven, GA; her grandchildren, Ava Turpin, Nicolas Adams, Nolan Adams and Van Adams; her brother John Trakas; and her sister-in-law Rosemary Jianopoulos. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral (2500 Clairmont Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Maxine's name to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
