He was predeceased by : his parents, Bea Slater and George Slater. He is survived by : his wife Betty Gabriel Slater; and his cousins, Patsy Barnwell, Cathy, Ken Rutan, Paul, Helen Barnwell, Alison, Frank McCrink and David Booher. He is also survived by nieces and nephew.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Peachtree Presbyterian Church (3434 Roswell Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30305).
