The family announces the passing of Rufus O. Terrill (Atlanta, Georgia) on October 4, 2026. Rufus, born on April 10, 1951, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ondy Terrill and Mary Jo Cantrell Terrill; and his sisters, Faye Cochran, Brenda Johnson and Opal Hutcheson.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Oberg Terrill; his children, John Ondy Terrill and MaryJo Marguerite Dorse (Kevin Dorse); his grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Dorse, Katherine Elise Dorse, John "Jack" Michael Terrill and Daniel McDonald Terrill; his stepgranddaughters, Zoe Dorse and Trinity Dorse; his sister Alma Jo Molmer; and his sister-in-law Mary Oberg Stallings of Arlington, Texas.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the H. M. Patterson & Son-Oglethorpe Hill Chapel (4550 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30319). A prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Christ the King (2699 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA 30305).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rufus's memory, and in honor of his beloved daughter, MaryJo, to Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), Georgia Chapter, 1277 Lenox Park Boulevard NE, Suite 430, Brookhaven, Georgia 30319.
