He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Alvis and Vauneda Alvis; and his brothers, Fred and Sam Alvis. He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Angie Lovein (Rob) of Nashville, Margo Mathis (Steven) of Nashville, Dwayne Alvis (Julie) of Peachtree Corners, Craig McCorvey of Swannanoa, NC and Scott Alvis (Laura) of Peachtree Corners; his sister Fay Nolen; and his grandchildren, Carson McCorvey, Mary Alvis-Johnson (Antwan), Tripp Lovein (Halleigh), Riley McCorvey, Caroline Peters (Clay), Mattie Mae Mathis, Rowan Mathis, Sarah Alvis, Matthew Alvis, Andrew Alvis and Bennett Alvis.
