We are sad to announce that on February 4, 2025, at the age of 87, Tom Cook Smith in Atlanta, Georgia, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Tom may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ches Smith Jr. and Carolyn Macdonald Smith. He is survived by: his wife Kay Happoldt; his children, Tracey Catharine Smith (Kent Bingham Reed) and Kenneth Happoldt Smith (Sheri Lingle Smith); and his grandchildren, Knox Reed, Stockton Reed, Peyton Smith and Kendall Smith.
