She was predeceased by: her parents, Roswell Davis Ison, Jr. and Virginia Greene Ison; and her siblings, Roswell Davis Ison, III, Diane Ison Coursey and Barbara Ison Thome.
She is survived by: her husband J. Randall "Randy" Akin; her sons, John Randall Akin, Jr., Bradley Davis Akin and Ryan Thomas Akin (Ashley); and her sister Janice Ison Haralson. She is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
