He was predeceased by: his father Junior Thurmond; his wife Barbara Golden Thurmond of Riverdale, Georgia.; and his brother Barry Thurmond. He is survived by: his mother Beuna Waldon Johnson of Braselton; his siblings, Anthony Thurmond (Terri) of Statham and Lorri Conyla Thurmond of Carnesville; and his siblings' children, Dakota Thurmond of Braselton, Tyler Thurmond (Jade) of Hoschton, Brittany Mobley (Matt) of Statham, Andrew Thurmond (Sarah) of Washington, D. C., David Janes (Devyn) of Buford, Mandi Head (Allen) of Martin and Miranda Bray of Martin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ginn Funeral Home (90 Church St, Carnesville, GA 30521). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Allens United Methodist Church (15817 GA-106, Martin, GA 30557).
