He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slavens and Vernice Slavens; his sister Wendy; and his brother-in-law Dave Shurr. He is survived by: his wife Candace W. Slavens; his children, Gregory Slavens, Bradley Slavens and Jennifer Hobbs; his son-in-law Aaron Hobbs; his stepgranddaughters, Sidney and Stephanie Hobbs; and his siblings, Harold Slavens (Sharyn) of Phoenix, AZ, Helen Engle of Phoenix, AZ, Wanda Ruth (Jerry) of Rainbow City, AL and Marietta Slavens of Tucson, AZ.
