We are sad to announce that on July 26, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Andrea Whatley (Augusta, Georgia). You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Rhodes and Virginia Rhodes; her husband John Summerlin Whatley; her grandparents, Maybelle and Wilfred Robinson; and her aunt Vivian Mae Robinson.

She is survived by: her children, Ginger Ann Whatley and James D. Whatley (Jim); her grandchildren, Carter and Rebecca Whatley; her siblings, Diane Rhodes Black and Joe Rhodes; and her pet Ruby. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

“Andrea was my best friend in our community since we both became widows within a year of each other and we were both quilters and crocheters. We attended the Augusta Chapter of Project Linus blanket making days and crocheted borders on blankets to be given to children in need of comfort in a difficult time in their lives. She will be missed by the other blanketeers and especially by me. I am sharing photos of her with three quilts she finished for her family earlier this year. ~ LaVonne Hanlon”
