With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ann Messer Griesel (Augusta, Georgia), born in Gibson, Georgia, who passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her former husband Kimsey Eugene "Gene'Messer; her parents, Willie S. Story and Cara Thigpen Story; and her siblings, Junior Story, Libby Goodwin and Paulette "Polly" Padgett.

She is survived by: her husband Benjamin "Ben" P. Griesel; her son Randy Messer (Faye); her grandchildren, Chris Messer, Chance Witt (Mike), Rebekah Messer and Spencer Durham; her stepchildren, Mike Griesel (Karen), Scott Griesel (Debra) and Jan Williams (Thad); her stepgrandchildren, Jared Williams (Kylie), Caitlyn Maddox (Conner) and Casey Griesel; her stepgreat-grandchildren, Aisling Williams and Braelyn Maddox; and her siblings, June "Boots" Yaun, John "Buddy" Story (Rita) and Pam Young (Larry). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
