She was predeceased by : her husband James Beard Sr.; her son Ricky Beard; her siblings, John Davis and Mary O'Neal; her adoptive son Edwin Dean Williams; and her grandson Edwin Dean Williams Jr..

She is survived by : her children, Jeffrey Beard (Stephanie), Alvin Beard (Mable), Greg Beard, James Beard (Carmen), Marcus Beard (Tamara), Ozella Strong (Joey), Pam Edwards and Yulitta Rogers (Thomas). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Spirit Creek Baptist Church (1783 Dixon Airline Rd, Augusta, GA 30906).
