He was predeceased by: his parents, Sarah Bryan Simkins (Leroy Hampton Simkins) and Leroy Simkins; and his son George Bryan. He is survived by: his wife Sally Lofton Simkins; his daughters, Frances Merry Simkins of Marietta and Robin Simkins Pongonis (Jay); his granddaughters, Anne Briscoe, Rebecca Jane, Elizabeth Allan, Margaret George of Marietta and Sarah Frances Simkins of Richmond, VA; his brother Leroy Hampton Simkins; and his siblings-in-law, Sarah Turner Simkins of Augusta, Barbara Lofton McCormick and Harvey W. McCormick of Charleston, S. C..
A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hammond Cemetery.
