With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carolyn Thigpen in Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on October 27, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Charles Williams and Mary Lizzie Nesmith Williams; her husband Edison Thigpen; her siblings, Charles Bobby Williams and Randi March; and her son-in-law Rufus Mixon.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah E. Mixon of Cochran, GA and Billy Thigpen (Sarah) of Luling, LA; her sister Virginia Coleman of Winter Haven, FL; her grandchildren, Blaine Thigpen (Kristyn), Wesley Thigpen (Holly) and Dawn Phillips (Mike); her great grandchildren, Madilyn, Maddox and Emrie; and her close friends, Annette Shepherd, Bobbie Hussey, Marjorie Keen and Waydene Vandroe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
