He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Charles Hartley and Margaret Dawson Hartley; and his great grandchild Hunter John Charles Samples. He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Shears (Keith), Denise Butler (Keenan Adams) and Stephanie Samples (John); his grandchildren, Keena Adams and Brooke Shears; his stepbrothers, Mack Hartley, Bob Hartley, Tim Hartley, Lee Hartley and Joe Hartley; and his fishing buddy Dave Hartley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (3551 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, GA 30909). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Per family request, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital http://www.stjude.org.
