He was predeceased by: his wife Maxine Whisnant; his parents, Osbie Whisnant and Margaret Whisnant; his sisters, Evelyn Kneece, Doris Newsome and Nellie Corrodino; and his great grandchildren, Bryson Dinger, Bostyn Dinger and Bella Dinger.

He is survived by: his children, Regina Daniel (Jeff) and Rosbie Whisnant (Carol); his sister Aileen Sarah Buxton; and his grandchildren, Jeff Daniel, Jr. (Michelle), Justin Daniel (Tasha), Chris Daniel (Samantha), Trisha Smith, Jeff King (Heather), Billy King (Kandice) and Ben Whisnant.
