It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Moody Owens Sr. of Augusta, Georgia, born in McRae, Georgia, who passed away on February 4, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stoner Owens and Lavada Powell Owens; and his nephew Charles Aaron Owens. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anna Fowler Owens of Augusta; his children, Juliana Owens Lewis (Brian) of Augusta, David Moody Owens, Jr. (Linda) of North Augusta, SC, Lewis Henry Owens of Nashville, TN and Brad Owens of Augusta; his brother John Larry Owens (Marlina) of New Bern, NC; his grandchildren, Adam Lewis (Heather), Ben Lewis (Brooke), Brianna Minick (Jon), Austin Owens (Darien) and Mirabella Owens; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Ray (Leroy) of Helena and Edwin Fowler of Macon. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
