He is survived by: his wife Mary Ruffin Lyons; his children, Vernon Lee Lyons, Kayle Lee Jones (Kim), Dedrick Gantt (Nicole), Carolyn Jones (Otis) and Teresa Drake; his sister Wilhemina Hill; his siblings-in-law, Jule of Maryland and Josephine Ruffin; his grandchildren, Bernard "BJ" Simmons, Nicholas Dixon (Tina), Jenease Horstead, Keltavious Jones, Nina Drake, Alexis Drake, Tryston Jones, Kayla Jones, Jalen Gantt and Angel Gantt; his great grandchildren, Mycah Horstead, Amiyah Jones and Tre Jones; his great-aunt Ola Murray; and his godchildren, Tangy Howard and Jualise Simmons. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
