He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Johnston and Lillie Mae James Johnston. He is survived by: his siblings, John E. Johnston, Jr. (Jane) and Jincy Ann Johnston; his niece Jana Johnston; his nephew Jeffrey Johnston (Malinda); and his great-nieces, Hannah Johnston, MacKenzie Johnston and Lily Johnston.
