Elsie leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Elsie’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Elsie will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Thompson and Mildred Widner Thompson. She is survived by: her husband William H. "Billy" Mills; her children, Freida M. Nunez-Gladson (late Steve Gladson), William H. Mills Jr. (Melissa) and Charles T. Mills (Elizabeth); and her sisters, Virginia "Tiny" Gay and Donna Murray. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren; her twenty-three great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors (2502 Richmond Hill Rd, Augusta, GA 30906). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Chance and Hydrick Funeral Directors (2502 Richmond Hill Rd, Augusta, GA 30906).
