She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon C. Busch and Mary Ann Spires Busch; her former husband Lawton Powell, Jr.; her husband Vernon Lee Hale; her son Charles Powell; and her grandson Donnie Powell.
She is survived by: her children, Roxanne Padgett and Donald; her daughter-in-law Connie Powell; and her sister Virginia Davis. She is also survived by Six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren along with a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Trenton, SC.
