He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Jones Young and Willie B. Copeland; his adoptive parents, Roy Richardson and Mary Lee Richardson; his parents-in-law, Rufus Collier and Sally Collier; and his siblings, Sylvia Copeland, Willie Vance Copeland, Robert Louis Copeland, Robert Yarbrough Sr., Larry Young and Michael Ray Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Bell Richardson; his children, Sylvia Richardson and Roderick Richardson; his stepdaughter Carla Walker; his grandchildren, Janayia, Olivia Jefferies and Tyler Jefferies; his siblings, Shirley Cruise, Wilma Clifton Young (Johnnie), Joyce Gambrel, Barbara Jones, Brigette Jones, Rickey Jones, Brenton Copeland and Teresa Norwood (Alex); and his siblings-in-law, Raymond Collier, Gloria Copeland and Jean Ann Tucker.
