He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Lee Copeland and Ruby Lee Kight Copeland. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Copeland of Augusta; his children, Lee Copeland of Harlem, George Copeland, Jr. (Sylvia) of Fredericksburg, Gary Copeland of Raleigh, Mark Hyman (Dana) of Augusta, Brian Hyman of Augusta, Lisa Hayes (John) of Blythe and Eddie Lynn Blackstone (Ted) of Blythe; his siblings, Eunice Dickey, Brenda Tyson of Lyons and Marcus Lee Copeland, Jr. of Dade City, Florida; and his sister-in-law Ginger Copeland of Lyons. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
