He was predeceased by : his parents, Lavern Herpin and Audrey Herpin (Strickland); and his siblings, Vernon Herpin, Joyce Shephard, Doris Needs, Pat Weese and June Uppinghouse.

He is survived by : his wife Shelby Herpin; his children, Greg Herpin (Julie) of Booneville, MO, Jake Herpin, Julie Kindhart and Stacie Herpin of Quincy, Illinois; his stepchildren, Felicia Farmer (David) of Wendell, NC, Tomekia Bell (Curtis) of Durham, NC, Renada McLamb of Goldsboro, NC and Chiwanda Lee (Kelvin) of Youngstown, OH; his grandchildren, Ashlie Kindhart (Chase Howland) of Pittsfield and Sarah Brewer (Josh) of Booneville, Illinois; and his great grandchild Josie Howland. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
