Grace Elizabeth Matherson Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 16, 2023, at the age of 84, Grace Elizabeth Matherson of Augusta, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her mother Mildred L. Hubbard; her husband Nathan Russell Matherson Sr.; her brother Harold Hubbard Jr.; her son-in-law David D. Johnson, Sr. (Carlene D. Mullens); and her mother Carlene D. Mullens (David D. Johnson, Sr.).

She is survived by: her children, Nathan Russell Matherson, Jr. (Lisa) of North Augusta, SC and Arlene New Johnson of Augusta; her siblings-in-law, Ellen Tedder of Rockingham, NC, Kay Amantea of Jacksonville, Florida., Joe and Charles Matherson of Chattanooga; her grandchildren, Wendy Chaffin, Christy McGowan, Michelle New Bailey, Sherri Matherson, Nathan Alexander Matherson, Shane Matherson and Amanda Matherson; and her great grandchild Jessalyn New. She is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great- Great Grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Church for the Children and Youth Ministries 276 Hatcher Road Rockingham, NC 28379.
