He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph E. Sims and Emma Hughes Sims; and his siblings, Sonny Sims and Joyce Lawrence. He is survived by: his brother Oscar Sims; and his nieces and nephews, Elaine Simmons, Joy Baker, Stephanie Camacho, Emelie Camacho, Samara Chandler, Kenyon Chandler and Ayden Esquivel.
